Focus 40 is time (40 minutes) set aside on Tuesdays and Thursdays for students to focus on their own academics and interests. Teachers often invite students to attend their Focus 40 sessions because the teachers feel the extra time and individual attention would benefit the student. Students, who do not receive an invitation from a teacher, have the opportunity to see any of their teachers for additional help as needed. The Focus 40 schedule also includes a variety of sessions including club/organization meetings, college/career research, art, music, drama, college applications, FAFSA assistance, guest speakers, life skills, and quiz/test make-up and more. Our library media center is open to students for book check-out, silent reading, and project collaboration. Attendance is taken during Focus 40, and students are expected to use the time for academic improvement or enrichment.
