JHHS Archery

The JHHS Archery season will begin on or around 12 October.  If you are interested in being a member of the John Hardin Archery Team please contact Mike Moritz school telephone number is 270-769-8906, or Coach Moritz' cell telephone number is 270-723-4410. 

Every student must have an up-to-date KHSAA Physical before they can participate in the high school archery program.   

We need volunteers for the archery program to be successful.  You will need to fill out a volunteer application on the Hardin County Schools - Volunteer for a School or Classroom web page.  Start on the link to the left called - I am a new applicant

Our primary means of communication to our team members and parents is through Group Me.

The High School Team will be practicing on Tuesday and Wednesday night from 1930 to 2030.

  • The Middle School Team will be practicing Tuesday and Wednesday night from 1830 to 1930.
  • All of the matches or tournaments are normally held on Saturday's.  There are a few times we could shoot on Friday evening.
  • You will need to purchase your own bow.  The only bow allowed to be used by KHSAA and NASP is the Matthew "Genesis Original" Compound Bow. 
  • The schedule of practice dates and archery tournaments will be posted on the calendar.
John Hardin HS

 

The John Hardin High School Archery Team is conducting summer camp for archery. The date for the camp will be from either 16 to 20 June or 23 to 27 June 2025.  The camp is always run the week prior to the Athlete Two Week No Practice Period.  The hours for the camp are 0930 to 1100.   The archers are invited to eat lunch at JHHS after the daily camp. The camp will be run in the small gym at John Hardin High School. The cost for the camp is $25 per archer. Payment for the camp is by cash or check only. The camp is designed for young archers with little or no experience, 4th grade through 12th grade. This camp with address the following; basic archery instruction, eye dominance, range safety rule, proper shooting techniques, grouping, scoring, live range shooting, and a camp shirt. For information on the camp, contact Mike Moritz at 270-723-4410 or email mikemoritz972@gmail.com.

The official arrow of the National Archery in the  Schools Program® and KHSAA.    The only arrow approved by  NASP® for tournament use.  These arrows exceed the specifications of other Genesis arrows.  The arrows are provided by the school.
