My name is Mark Wells, and I am honored to serve as the principal of John Hardin High School. Originally from Indiana, I moved to Hardin County and have been a part of the John Hardin family since the school opened its doors in August 2001. It has been a privilege to watch our school grow and evolve into one of Kentucky’s premier high schools.

Our students, staff, and families have worked together to create a safe, supportive learning environment built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a tradition of excellence. As the smallest high school in Hardin County, we take pride in knowing our students personally and providing the support they need to succeed. The word “family” is often used to describe our school community because it reflects who we are. We believe in taking care of one another, serving our community, and helping every student reach their full potential.

Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our outstanding student achievement. John Hardin High School has earned Blue Status, the highest academic distinction awarded through Kentucky’s accountability system, recognizing the exceptional work of our students, teachers, and staff. We are proud of our strong performance on state assessments, as well as the many academic, athletic, artistic, and extracurricular accomplishments that continue to distinguish our students.

The success of John Hardin High School is a direct result of the dedication of our talented staff, the support of our families, and the hard work of our students. Together, we strive to prepare every Bulldog for success in college, careers, military service, and life beyond high school. I am proud to be a member of the Hardin County Schools community and the John Hardin Bulldog Family.
